Minutes: Approved. Discussed: V Faith Alive weekend progress. Coordinator Gary Stout will be seeking committee chairs. V Financial Stewardship: Treasurer’s Report: Carl Staffan - Approved V Church Picnic: Aug 27th at St. Andrew’s 4:00 PM Vestry to supply: Hot Dogs, Brats, Hamburgers, mustard, ketchup, plates, napkins, and coffee. Drinks (BYO), Basket to be passed. V Sunday School: July 23rd meeting after church. Seeking input for all aspects of ministry with children and youth. V Gospel Tent Singing at Fayette County Fair for St. Andrew’s: July 25tl~ from 6-7 PM. V Habitat For Humanity Of Fayette County. July 16th , we’ll pass the basket in Church. The vestry voted to give them $150.00 from outreach funds. V Reviewed ongoing pastoral needs among congregation. V Rally Sunday…… Sept. 10th V NEXT MEETING AUG. 24th 6:15 PM
Vestry Highlights, May 11, 2006 Vestry Highlights - May 11, 2006 - 6:15 PM Present: Gary Stout (Senior Warden), Ed Kuehn (Junior Warden), Jane Stout, Vicki Staffan, Tom Trimmer, Don Ladd, Sue Timmons, Carl Staffan (Treasurer- ex-officio), Mary Link (Clerk - ex-officio), Fr. Steve Cuff. Absent: Rodney Wright. The meeting opened with prayer. The minutes of March 23, 2006 were approved. Vestry reviewed "chores" to be tackled on work day on 5/20. The treasurer's report noted that for 2006 year to date, giving has outpaced expenses by over $4,000.00. The 2006 budget was adjusted to increase maintenance line item by $1.300.00 to accommodate late 2005 gas line replacement in the rectory, which was not billed until 2006. The Vestry reviewed pastoral concerns in the congregation and community and offered their "shepherding notes" ready for mailing. Other Business considered 1) Health Fair participation on 4/29 was very well received. Thanks extended to those who helped (see note elsewhere in Red Door). 2) National Day of Prayer Worship & Luncheon on 5/1 went VERY well (see note elsewhere in Red Door). 3) Saint Andrew's registered for a "Faith Alive" weekend in early 2007 with Gary Stout as General Chairperson and Sue Timmons as weekend Follow-Up Chairperson. 4) We've accepted an invitation to host the Gospel Tent for an evening at the Fayette County Fair in July. Fr. Steve will coordinate with Cheryl Stockwell, who oversees the Gospel Tent, Marcella Hedges is happy to provide accompaniment for singers. 5) Vestry participating in National Day of Prayer "Adopt-a-Leader" program, and commits to keep Gail Brown, Mayor of Bloomingburg, in prayer for the year ahead. 6) The Vestry members did a "Spiritual Gifts Inventory" to assist in discernment of gifts for ministry. Vestry Highlights: February 23, 2006 EVERY Vestry Member and Warden was present: Tom Trimmer, Don Ladd, Rodney Wright, Gary Stout, Sue Timmons, Vicki Staffan, Ed,Kuehn, Fr. Cuff & Mary Link, clerk. The Vicar reported on home & hospital visitations; upcoming Bible Studies; Lenten opportunities; Bishop's Nominating Committee work; and activities in the Diocese and Scioto River Valley Deanery. He recently spent time with those layreaders licensed to lead Sunday worship (Morning Prayer) to ensure they are prepared to do so. Senior Warden Gary Stout reported on positive Annual Mtg.; well-attended and enjoyable card party at Keith & Leah Foster's in January Junior Warden Ed Kuehn reported on renovation of Sacristy counter and sink, the cost of which is being covered by two parishioners; consideration of ways alleviate moisture build up in storage rooms; the need to check gas lines to church; completion of electric service upgrade (to 200 amp) for Rectory. With input of Vestry Ed is preparing a list of cleaning & repair needs to post in Parish Hall which could be handled by parishioners. Treasurer's Report (Carl Staffan) was approved as presented. January had a net gain of almost $1,900.00 to checking account as several parishioners fulfilled 2005 pledges in January 2006. Discussed "Shepherding" of families by Vestry members & need to improve this ministry. Will be discussed at Vestry overnight retreat in April. Overnight retreat scheduled for Fri. 4/21 - Sat. 4/22 at Procter. Vestry members will cover expenses (about $75/each). If this expense is an issue for anyone, please speak with Fr. Cuff privately. "Faith Alive" weekend will be scheduled for March (Lent) 2007. This provides good "lead time" before weekend is held. Need to identify a good "follow up" coordinator for the weekend. Signed off on 2005 Parochial Report Signed up to attend Bishop & Vestry Day at Procter on Sat. 3/11: Attending will be Gary Stout, Jane Stout, Tom Trimmer, Don Ladd, Vicki Staffan, Carl Staffan, and Rodney Wright, and Sue Timmons. Fr. Cuff asked Vestry to begin prayer to consider best way for us to offer Sunday School for children. Vestry will sponsor potluck luncheon on 3/26, when we dedicate new keyboard. Saint Andrew's will again participate in Health Fair on 4/29. Mary Link will research what we might be able to offer at our booth. Jane Stout agreed to coordinate a "diaper shower" for the L.I.F.E. Pregnancy Center. Vestry voted a $100 donation (outreach) for the center. NEXT Vestry meeting: Thursday 3123/06 at 615 PM. PLEASE let Fr. Cuff know ahead of time if you cannot attend.
Vestry Highlights: Thursday January 12, 2006 A Quorum was present: Vestry Members: Ed Kuehn, Jane Stout, Vicki Staffan, and Carl Staffan - Senior Warden and Treasurer. Fr. Steve Cuff - Vicar. Absent: John Link - Junior Warden, Mary Link - clerk, Jennifer Moore. The meeting opened in prayer at 620 PM. Vestry accepted with regret Chuck McKinney's resignation from Vestry for health reasons. Minutes from previous meeting: 12.104/05 were accepted as presented Church Mailbox: 1) Job & Family Services Thank You for Holiday outreach – poster 2) Diocesan Committee on Congregational Life Grant for 2006: $22,500.00 Pastoral Life: Vicar: reported on visits made & home communions, and reviewed Christmas, New Year's and the Bishop's visitation. Congregation/Shepherding - reviewed pastoral concerns in congregation & community. Vestry anticipates overnight meeting in Spring `06 for review and planning. Vestry discussed - 1) Update on amplification of lectern - done, and will be permanent shortly. 2) 2006 Stewardship Update - finish budget. $91,386 pledged for 2006 Diocesan Grant of $22,500 of $24,500 requested. Resulting budget has a deficit currently of $4,900. 3) Parish Hall Carpet Update from ECW - Ed Kuehn has one more contractor who will bid 4) Memorial Fund Expenditures. a) grave marker for Clarence Barger: $537.83 - ordered and paid b) electronic keyboard for church in memory of Bucky Burbage: S622 - ordered, paid, delivered - to be dedicated on 3/26/06 5) Annual Meeting: 1/22/06 - approved proposed agenda for mtg. Nominating Committee: prepared slate for Wardens / Vestry / Delegates / Endowment Trustees 6) Consideration of a Faith Alive Weekend in 2006 - wholeheartedly supported by Vestry - after annual meeting date will be selected and application made 7) Episcopal Church USA Congregational Life Survey opportunity - one of 600 congregations chosen for this out of 7.200 Episcopal Churches. Chance to get direct feedback to church at national level. Will be done after worship on 3/12/06 Financial Stewardship 1) Treasurer's Report - accepted as presented The meeting concluded in prayer at 745 PM.

Junior Warden - John Link: new lighting needed for church sign, have contribution in hand for expense; purchased 2 new door stoppers 5 fire extinguishers to meet current code; having a contractor evaluate the steeple & bell pulleys; electric service work is completed, but still have to dry wall the area by the panel in the narthex; Jane volunteered to clean the carpet in the narthex; will explore options for permanent repair of kitchen floor.
