Summer Camps At Procter!

Procter Camp and Conference Center is located on more than 1,400 acres of rolling farmland near London, Ohio - and is less than a three hour drive from anywhere in the diocese. Deeded to the Diocese of Southern Ohio from the estate of Mr. and Mrs. William Cooper Procter, it is a place where everyone may find renewal of the spirit, the will of God, and the joy of life.

2003 marks the thirteenth year of Summer Camp at Procter for youth and adults, and promises to he the best summer yet! Camp activities are designed to foster Christian community through daily activities including: worship, swimming, creative arts, fishing, kayaking, paddle-boating, arts and crafts, campfire, free time, sports of all kinds, and Bible study. The lessons and activities are age appropriate for each camp session.

Summer Camp staff consists of a full-time staff of counselors, musicians, lifeguards, nurses, chaplains, and the camp director. Led by a staff of counselors committed to Christ, serving with boundless energy and enthusiasm, campers enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, field games, arts and crafts, drama, sports, fantastic music, creative worship, and opportunities for Christian formation that will revitalize faith, encourage fun, and create memories that last a lifetime! Diocesan clergy serve as chaplains for each session, and work alongside counselors in worship, Christian formation, spiritual guidance, and even games!

What sessions are offered? '[here are sessions offered by grade for those who are entering grades 4 and up! These campers stay five nights and develop friendships, work on their faith, and experience a community that brings them back year after year.

The summer begins and ends with Family Camp, a great opportunity to "get away" for three nights from the hectic demands of daily life. These sessions give you the chance to experience a Christian community with young and old alike, including families and singles, grandparents and grandchildren. Young people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to participate in Family Camp.

Interested in a wonderful way to experience God and Christ through the visual and performing arts'? Try Creative Arts Camp, the fastest growing session yet! This five night session is offered for young people entering grades 4 through 9 who are drawn to music and art of all sorts.

Space is limited! Don't wait to send in your registration - a deposit will reserve a space for you.

NO camper will be denied the opportunity to be part of camp due to financial need. Scholarship assistance is available! Contact your local congregation and the Office of the Summer Camping Program for more details.
